Boarding School Program

1. Dorm Houses

  • On-campus Boys Dorm
  • On-campus Girls Dorm
  • Faculty and staff homes — most are on-campus

2. Three Meals Provided

  • Breakfast and Dinner provided in home
  • Lunch provided on campus
  • All meals will be vegetarian (no meat)

3. Access to phone (long distance calls must be collect or calling card)
 
4. Accident Insurance provided by Newbury Park Adventist Academy
 
5. Medical Insurance provided by student

6. Boarding Fee**

  • Five nights SDA $5,000.00
  • Five nights non-SDA $5,500.00
  • Seven nights SDA $5,700.00
  • Seven nights non-SDA $6,500.00

Dorm Guidelines

Basic Home Policies
  • 10 o’clock is quiet time — Lights Out.
  • Students will participate in Worship exercises.
  • Help with clean-up after meals.
  • Will keep room tidy.
  • Will prepare individual breakfast; lunch is provided at school M-Th.; help with dinner.
  • Music must be approved.
  • Phone use not to be excessive. (Long distance calls are at the student’s expense.)
  • Approved Internet sites only.
  • Reading material must be approved by administration before bringing it to the dorm.
  • Sabbath weekend services (Sabbath School and Church Service) are required if in the dorm over the weekend.
  • All weekend activities must be approved by parents and house Dean.
  • Students should rise on time to meet their first school appointment.
  • Students must make arrangements to go home for every scheduled school holiday.
  • After-school activities must be in a supervised area.
  • Under no circumstances can boys be in the girls dorm and girls be in the boys dorm unless permission and supervision is approved and provided by the Dean.
  • Resident students may not bring guest students to the dorm home without the Dean’s permission and presence at the time of the visit.
Electronic Equipment
  • Laptop computers are to be used for school work only.
  • No CD or DVD movies.
  • Approved music CD’s only.
  • No movie videos.
  • Headsets may be used with approved music only.
  • Gameboys can be used with prior approval by the Dean.
Transportation
  • All transportation must be approved by both the parent and house dean.
  • No dorm student may ride with another student for any reason.
  • If the student has access to his/her own vehicle, it can be used only as approved by parent and dorm dean and for school activities. (Having a vehicle is a privilege that may be revoked at any time.)
  • The school will provide transportation for medical and dental appoint-ments within a 15 mile radius of the school. Parents are to be responsible for transportation outside of the 15 mile radius unless special arrangements have been made with the school prior to the appointment.   
School Activities
  • All dorm students are expected to attend school activities when in residence.
Non-School Activities
  • Any non-school activity must be approved by the dorm Dean.
Dress Code
  • Dorm students must adhere to the dress code as per the school bulletin.
  • After-school, non-school activities:
    • All dress must be appropriate and modest.
    • No jewelry is allowed as per the school dress code policy.
Extended Campus
  • The extended campus includes the Baja Fresh Plaza and the Target Plaza. Students may access these areas by checking out with the Dean.
  • On occasions when  the students are granted permission to access the areas of the extended campus they must be in a group.
Controlled Substances
  • Five-day and Seven-day dorm students, male and female, may be subjected to drug testing by request of Administration. If hair follicle results are positive the student will be asked to withdraw immediately.
