Expected School-wide Learning Results

 
1. A spiritually empowered student will:
  • Experience a personal relationship with God through prayer and Bible study.
  • Incorporate principles of the Bible into personal daily living and decision-making processes.
  • Form and practice Christian attitudes, values, and conduct, accepting diversity of others in an increasingly changing world.
  • Discover the enjoyment to be found within Christian fellowship, inviting others to share that joy by witnessing God’s saving grace.
2. An intellectually empowered student will:
  • Develop independent thoughts and skills to improve reasoning and analysis of a broad field of knowledge.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills in speaking, group discussion, and writing.
  • Cultivate study habits and learning skills to complete successfully an academically challenging program, allowing success in higher education.
  • Appreciate and experience creative expression to broaden aesthetic awareness through quality books, music, and the arts.
  • Acquire, comprehend, and apply the information to meet or exceed the Pacific Union Conference’s standards in English, mathematics, science, and social studies.
3. A physically empowered student will:
  • Practice behaviors that promote lifelong physical fitness and well-being.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the key risk factors and decisions that affect health.
4. A socially empowered student will:
  • Work effectively as a group member in various roles, adapting to change in a positive manner.
  • Manage relationships in a positive manner thus experiencing with fellow students the camaraderie which contribute to a feeling of community.
  • Develop a work ethic that demonstrates an appreciation for the dignity of work/service, and developing skills necessary for success in the workplace.
  • Become aware of career options and opportunities as they relate  to one’s personal strengths and abilities in context with a commitment to God.
  • Contribute learned skills in order to enrich the quality of life in the community by engaging in service to others.
  • Accept responsibility for one’s actions and decisions civically and personally.
